Updated: December 5, 2021

Next to the curing, knowing how to store weed is essential if we want to keep our weed fresh and still feel its effects after a longer period of time. Therefore, we present to you 5 tips on how to keep weed fresh.

1. Use Perfect Container

When storing weed, it’s important you minimize oxygen exposure. Many people put in extra effort and vacuum seal their buds. However, glass jar with airtight seal will do its job perfectly. Also, it’s a more accessible solution. Regardless if you decide for vacuum sealing or jar, just avoid plastic jars, since they encourage sweating and have a static charge, which has negative effects on your buds.

2. Hide Your Buds In The Dark

You should always hide your buds from the direct sunlight or even better, hide it in the dark – away from daylight completely. Namely, harmful UV rays degrade weed over time and this way you remove the threat completely. Also, in the dark, it’s usually colder, which is great for keeping your buds fresh.

3. Don’t Be Fooled By Tobacco Humidor

Many people think using a tobacco humidor is a great idea. And in theory, it is. However, many tobacco humidors are made of cedar wood. Here comes the problem - the oil from this wood can be absorbed by the weed which consequently influences bud’s flavor.

4. Don't Add Anything To Weed

Similarly, to the problem with tobacco humidor, many things can alter the flavor of your weed. Therefore, it’s crucial that you don’t add anything to the weed you’re trying to store. Especially not lighters, pipes or anything similar.

5. Never Freeze Your Buds

Some people swore on freezing weed or keeping it in a refrigerator like it was food. However, it’s not and consequently, the effects are completely different. Storing it in the refrigerator increases chances of mold and mildew. Freezing temperatures, on the other hand, result in trichomes breaking off when handled.

Following this 5 tips on how to store weed will definitely pay off and your buds will stay fresh. Even if you decide to use it after a couple of months or even more.
