Ingredients
- ½ g of cannabis
- ½ teaspoon of butter
- 1-2 cups of water
- Any other tea (optional)
- Sugar or honey (optional)
You can always add more weed if you wish to make a more potent tea with a stronger taste.
Process of Making Cannabis Tea
Firstly, you need to grind your weed but be careful you don't grind it to the powder since you'll have troubles later removing small parts from your cannabis tea. To avoid this, the best method is to cut buds in smaller parts with scissors or with a sharp knife.
Next, add butter to the weed you just ground. This is necessary in order for THCA to convert to a compound called THC. Since THC is not soluble in water alone and it needs something to cling on to when exposed to the high temperatures. Mix thoroughly to ensure that every bud is covered with weed. But be careful, that they won't be soaked in butter since this will have a negative effect.
Now fill the tea bag with your mixture. If you don't have a tea bag, you can always use a coffee filter. Meanwhile, heat up the water on the stove and simmer the tea bag in this water for approximately 30 minutes. Make sure the water never comes to the boiling point but simmers gently.
Tip: you can always add tea of another flavour in the last minutes of simmering if you wish to have tea with more pleasant flavour.
After 30 minutes, remove the tea bag and leave your freshly made cannabis tea to rest (and cool down) for a couple of minutes. Add honey or sugar if you desire and voila, your cannabis tea is ready!
